Ankel Osteoarthritis

Ankle Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease where ankle cartilage breaks down over time, causing pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. It mainly results from wear and tear, affecting daily activities.

Symptoms

  • Pain: Persistent pain in the ankle, particularly during and after movement.
  • Stiffness: Reduced flexibility and difficulty moving the ankle, especially in the morning or after periods of inactivity.
  • Swelling: Inflammation and swelling around the ankle joint, which may worsen with activity.
  • Reduced Range of Motion: Difficulty in fully extending or flexing the ankle.
  • Grinding Sensation: A feeling of bone-on-bone contact due to the loss of cartilage.
  • Deformity: In severe cases, the joint may become visibly deformed.
